WELCOME to the exciting new web page of the Laurel, Mississippi Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1606 West 15th Street!  Our church is a family of one hundred friendly members from the deep south!  We welcome visitors and love children!  Our church humbly boasts of numerous ongoing activities for all ages, but especially for our youth.

PROMISE:  The members of the Laurel Church claim the promise of John 3:16!  We believe in our hearts that God indeed loves each and every person so very much.  As that inspiring book Steps to Christ puts it:
The Heart of God yearns over His earthly children with a love stronger than death.  In giving up His Son, He has poured out to us all heaven in one Gift!

NAME: As Seventh-day Adventists, our name denotes two of our most precious beliefs:  Adventist reflects our passionate conviction in the soon, literal, visible, physical and audible return (Advent) of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Seventh-day refers to the holy Seventh-day Sabbath of Creation, the Sabbath of which Jesus declared He is Lord (Mark 2:28).

MISSION:  Our mission, as God's Church, is to proclaim to the world the Everlasting Gospel, the Good News, in the context of the Three Angel's Messages of Revelation 14:6-12.

DESIRE:  The collective desire of the Laurel SDA Church is that everyone would come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that we would all be found faithful and ready to meet our Redeemer in peace when He appears at His Second Coming.  What a wonderful and glorious day that will be!  Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Question of the Day:

Animals: Do they go to Heaven?

God made animals. Genesis 1:20-25 describes creatures of the water, air, and land.

God saved animals. Genesis 6:20 says they were "to be kept alive" in the ark during the flood.

God cares about animals. Jonah 4:11 shows this care. "But Ninevah has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?" (NIV)

Man should care. Proverbs 27:23 "Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds …" (NIV)

God wants animals unharmed. Isaiah 65:25 declares "The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox … They will neither harm nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the Lord." (NIV)

Yet, only man is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) with the power of free choice (Joshua 24:15). Thus Biblically, man is the only part of creation to which salvation can be offered to be accepted or rejected.
